We are closing in on an unprecedented decade of digital progress in the Executive Search industry. With the internet hitting critical mass, its clear the traditional approaches may be a thing of the past. However, be careful not to close the door to Executive Search just yet. Some exciting companies are mixing proven principles with cutting edge technology to really change the game over the next decade.
Funny how with the onslaught of off shore recruitment, job boards, and the 9 million other recruiting tools out there …majority of executive placements are still contributed to the same handful of firms. However, even these firms know we are on the cusp of something new.
So what is going to happen in the next 10 years? Much like what happened in the .com bubble. Majority of your Applicant Tracking Systems will start consolidating, due to the failure of offshore Recruitment Process Outsourcing companies combined with the extreme reduction of staffing forces the last two years during the recession, traditional staffing agencies will see a resurgence.
If you are a staffing decision maker , I highly recommend you take advantage on three major factors.
1) If you are currently offshoring your recruitment or sourcing activities I highly recommend you discontinue. Most Contract Recruiters and produce quantifiable 4 to 8 times the results as most RPO’s.
2) Embrace Social Media. This is not a one man show or project. This is where you can leverage your companies greatest assets.. its employees. Make sure you use an Applicant Tracking system that is already set up for social media recruiting. I recommend Jobvite.
3) Your candidate development function is your greatest tool for staving off agency fee’s and making your existing staffing model flourish.
